Review

Deadly Endings By Raymond Russell. Birdsong, The Kite Runner and even James Bond have some similarities with this fast moving and electrifying novel. The writer builds an exciting story in 1963, when WW2 and Franco’s Fascist Spain were still on the minds of Europe’s population. Although the characters soon become deep and complex individuals, as you are taken back to the Edwardian era and WW2 and you learn why the protagonists act as they do. It’s an eclectic novel, which works as a great beach page-turner, although closer observation shows a complexity of research that gets you thinking and searching for your history books.
