Review
In his early thirties Sandy Lyle had already achieved golfing greatness. A double major winner he seemed to have the talent and temperament to go on to dominate the game.
This made the collapse of his game in the late 1980's almost impossible to fathom.
Indeed Lyle still doesn't have the answers to the questions that his decline raised.
But he does have the disposition to realise that a life spent asking "what if?" is a life wasted. His trademark charm shines through a book that shows, ultimately, there is more to life than winning or losing on a golf course.
